Culture

This neighbourhood has one of the largest Jewish populations, and much of the local businesses revolve around Jewish culture. It is also home to numerous Synagogues and learning centres. Additionally, there is a large population of Polish, Italian, Filipino and Russian descent, making for an eclectic mix of local restaurants and cafes.  

Kosher cuisines are found at many locally owned and chain restaurants in the area. As well, you'll find cute family-owned bakeries that specialize in New York or Toronto style bagels.  

Clanton Park is also home to Little Manila, the centre of the Filipino community. It has a vibrant dining and café scene that draws visitors from around the GTA.  

Transportation

Centrally located within Toronto, Clayton Park has excellent public and private transportation options. It has several bus routes along Wilson Heights, Wilson Avenue, and Sheppard Avenue for easy connection to Downsview Station and nearby Wilson Subway Station. In addition, highway 401 and Allen Expressway are located adjacent to the neighbourhood for quick access to the Greater Toronto Area.  

Schools

Clayton Park has two public schools, Faywood ABC School and Dublin Heights Elementary & Middle School. There are also two private schools, the Toronto Heschel School and Yeshiva Bnei Akiva Or Chaim, along with one Catholic school, St Robert Catholic School.  

There are three excellent daycare providers for younger children: Faywood Boulevard Child Care Centre, Dublin Heights Community Child Care, and Menorah Nursery.  

Parks and recreation

Families and outdoor enthusiasts enjoy life in Clayton Park as there is plenty of green space and a recreation area. Clanton Park may just be one of Toronto’s best kept secrets.  

Nearby Downsview Park, once a military base, has become a popular destination for day-trippers. It has incredible indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a basketball stadium, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor ultimate frisbee, indoor hockey and even go-karting!
